Vietnamese Hat If you have ever visited the Vietnamese countryside (or Cambodia or Laos), you will have seen people wearing these supremely practical hats. is a simple style of conical hat originating in East, South and Southeast Asia specifically from Hue, Viet Nam given they are depicted on terracotta pots dating back over 2,000 years, they have likely been worn in some form for several millennia; and notable in modern-day nations and regions of Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, parts of Outer Manchuria, Taiwan, Nepal, Tibet, Thailand, and Viet Nam. It is kept on the head by a cloth (often silk) or fiber chin strap. One size fits all Just attach a ribbon or string to the points inside. The hats have been worn since ancient times to protect the wearer from the sunshine and rain of Vietnam’s tropical monsoon climate. An image of the non la was carved on the Ngoc Lu bronze drum and the ao Thinh bronze jar around 25003000 BC.
