High quality Laserply Birch Plywood sheets. Suitable for a wide range of applications, including laser cutting, cnc cutting Pyrography, Craft work, Model Making, Unless specified all our plywood will be B/BB grade Birch Plywood There will be variations in colour. Knots are allowed but will typically be less than 10mm to 30mm in diameter. Birch plywood is suitable for paint / stain or a lacquered finish. Not recommended for prolonged contact with moisture, not suitable for exterior use, BB grade is similar to B grade but allows for larger knots and repairs to the face. Knots are allowed and these will typically be less than 50mm in diameter. Open knots may be filled or repaired with wooden plugs. Our Birch Plywood incorporates EN314-2 Class 1 glue which is suitable for interior (dry) conditions. Interior glue is generally considered the preferred option for materials that are to be laser cut. Exterior glues can cause a more caramelised finish or ‘burnt’ look on and around the area that is cut. These are supplied as RAW MATERIAL; they will have imperfections, grain, knots and plugs according to the grade, Manufacturing tolerances apply, 3.2mm can vary from 2.6 to 3.6mm if you need a plug free grade then you need to buy BR grade (Unless you have a Thunderlaser). Lower powered lasers that are not set up correctly will leave scorched or dark edges these can be removed with light sanding using 120g abrasive sheets These are natural wood products so variations in colour, thickness, and visual imperfections are deemed applicable. Warp and twist of plywood can not be avoided; humidity can have drastic effects on the material as the boards are stored in extremely dry conditions, As soon as exposed to air they will start absorbing moisture which in turn will cause warp and twist. We laser cut all materials ourselves so know the issues of hold it flat, if you have any difficulty with keeping the boards flat we are happy to assist. We mostly use strong rare earth magnets to not only flatten the boards but to stop unwanted movement. Warp and twist On receipt store flat, in a dry warm area, any boards you wish to cut, stand up and let the air circulate around them at least overnight, or preferably a few days to assist them to acclimatise to your humidity levels
