These beautiful woven pieces are the work of weavers in Sade in Lombok, Indonesia. I went personally to the village to source them. They use ages old techniques to make their own thread from natural fibres.The threads are then coloured using natual dyes such as turmeric and then woven using a backstrap loom to create these beautiful works of art.They take weeks to weave and are tough and durable as well as practical. They cab ne used as a scarf, table runner or hung on a wall. There are tassels at both ends.These are the traditional designs of the village and are knows as Gedogan Ikat and these are only produces in this one village. The village only got electricity a few years ago so these are likely to be the only ones we can get as communication are going to be difficult with the village Dimensions: 158x30cm approx Please note there may be small flaws in the weave.
