YAMAHA MG10XU 10-Input Mixer with Effects

$17.71 $34
The Yamaha MG10XU is widely considered the “industry standard” for compact analog mixers. It balances professional-grade hardware (like studio-quality preamps) with a high-resolution USB interface, making it equally capable for live sound, podcasting, and home recording.   Unlike more “budget” mixers, the MG10XU is built into a heavy-duty metal chassis and uses discrete Class-A circuitry usually found on much more expensive consoles. Key Performance Features D-PRE Discrete Class-A Preamps: These are Yamaha’s high-end preamps. They use an “inverted Darlington circuit” to deliver high power with low impedance. This results in a very “clean” sound with fat bass and smooth highs—avoiding the “thin” sound common in entry-level mixers. 1-Knob Compressors: Channels 1 and 2 feature a simplified compression knob.6 With a single turn, you can “glue” a vocal or smooth out an acoustic guitar’s dynamics without needing to understand complex threshold or ratio settings. SPX Digital Effects: It includes a dedicated processor with 24 selectable effects, including Yamaha’s famous “Hall” and “Room” reverbs, delays, and modulation effects (chorus, flanger, phaser). High-Resolution USB Interface: While many mixers only support 16-bit audio, the MG10XU features a 24-bit / 192\kHz 2-in/2-out interface. This allows you to record your stereo master mix directly into a DAW (like the included Cubase AI) at studio-master quality.   Connectivity & Layout The MG10XU is optimized for high-quality signal routing. Mono Inputs (Ch 1–4): Feature XLR/TRS combo jacks, a 12$26\text{ dB}$ PAD switch (for loud sources like drums), and an 80Hz High-Pass Filter to remove stage rumble or mic handling noise. Stereo Inputs (Ch 5/6, 7/8, 9/10): Standard 1/4” TRS and RCA inputs for keyboards, laptops, or media players. Channel 9/10 can also receive the return audio from your computer via USB.   Outputs: Stereo Out: Balanced XLR and 1/4” TRS (Main speakers). Monitor Out: 1/4” TRS (For studio monitors or booth speakers). FX Send: 1/4” TRS (To send a signal to an external processor). Phones: 1/4” Stereo jack with dedicated volume. Pro-Level Podcasters: If you have 2–4 guests and want the cleanest possible mic signal before it hits your computer, this is the best value-for-money choice. Solo Musicians/Duos: Perfect for a singer-songwriter setup where you need reverb for the vocals and a clean line-in for a guitar or keyboard. Corporate/Churches: The rugged build and “1-knob” simplicity make it ideal for non-technical users who need reliable sound for presentations or small services. [!NOTE] MG10XU vs. MG10X: Make sure you get the XU version if you need to record to a computer. The “X” version (Grey master block) has the effects but lacks the USB interface. Category: Mixers
